In the fiction of J. R. R. Tolkien, the Lambengolmor were the Loremasters of the Elves. The singular form of this Quenya word is Lambengolmo. It is a compound of lambe, tongue, and n(g)olmo, loremaster (from the same root ngol, or "knowledge", that also yields the word Noldor).
The Lambengolmor were skilled linguists and historians, and created many works about the Elves and their languages.
Known members were Rúmil, who invented the first alphabet; Fëanor, inventor of the Tengwar; and Pengolodh, who is credited with many works the Silmarillion was based on.
